Fran’s Biography

My name is Francesca, I was born in South Wales but have lived in the Somerset area for the last sixteen years.

Dancing has always been, and will continue to be, my first love and passion.  I began dancing at the age of three in Newport, South Wales.

With the encouragement of my mum and dad I auditioned for the television programme 999, I was four years of age when I successfully got the part.  After this I went on to do many more TV programmes including the ever popular Casualty.

From a baby in a moses basket I have always travelled and experienced the life of being in the music business, spending many hours watching rehearsals and performances, as both of my parents have been in the industry from a very early age.

Having tried my hand at the drums (my dad is a drummer), and drove everybody mad singing all the time (my mum is a singer), I decided to stick to the quieter option of dance or so my mum thought! Then came the tap shoes!!!

I have studied locally at Manda Clarke’s School Of Dancing since the age of three (ballet, tap, modern and jazz) and I have also studied in London as an associate member at Urdang Academy, and a brief spell at London Studio Centre.  During this time I have been lucky enough to perform in many theatres across the country, including London, Illfracombe, Torquay, Tiverton and many more.  I successfully completed my studies in contemporary dance and drama at GCSE and A Level, and went on to spend one year at Stella Mann Performing Arts College.

During the past few years I have been working with professional companies and have enjoyed different aspects of performance including Musical Theatre, performing at some of the best hotels in the South West.  Commercial (Popmania) has taken me all over the country singing and dancing at some of the best holiday resorts, including Butlins, Minehead and Bognor and venues on the Isle Of White to name a few. Professional cabaret (Madonna Tribute), took me all over the UK, performing in Theatres, Nightclubs, Hotels and Holiday resorts, such as The Ministry of Sound in London, Gay Pride in Cardiff, and headlining at a South West carnival.

The whole Bucks Fizz gang are not only extremely professional and experienced but a lot of fun and, having already done our first theatre performance with them, I am really looking forward to many more performances in the future.
